Notes
01 Pasco is usually said to have retired from the Royal Navy when he settled in Victoria, but the various issues of “The Navy List” have him as an active Lieutenant, though unassigned, on full pay until his retirement in 1866. The 1854 Blue Book, however, notes that he was receiving half pay from the Royal Navy as well as his full salary as a Police Magistrate.
